After almost two decades of serving the WA Filipino community as Philippine Consul General, Gerald Francis ‘Gerry’ Donnelly has retired. Community members bade him a sentimen- tal farewell at a get-together on the 21st of June at Dome Cafe in Claremont Quarters. Community leaders paid tribute to Gerry as a diplomat, a colleague, a friend, a consul and a gentleman. He was cited for the tremendous service that he had rendered to the Fili- pino migrant community in Perth and WA for 18 years, during which time he often went beyond the normal call of duty to come to the aid of workers and their families. In behalf of the Filipino community, we extend to Gerry Donnelly sincerest thanks, along with our best wishes for good health and good fortune. So long, Gerry. God bless you and your loved ones! TPS
