How to obtain an OEC (BalikManggagawa)

In response to the many queries of our Filipino 457 visa holders, on the issuance of OECs (Overseas Employ- ment Certificate), the Philippine Overseas Labor Office “POLO” in Canberra is pleased to advise on how our Fili- pino workers (Balik Manggagawa) in Australia can apply before going back to the Philippines for a vacation.

Balik Manggagawa kababayans whose job sites are located in the various states and territories of Australia and who want to secure the OEC before leaving the Australia should send the following documents to the Office of the Labour Attaché, POLO-Canberra:

1. Employment Contract that has been duly notarized by a solicitor or certified by a Justice of the Peace;
2. Certified true copy of their valid passport and visa
3. Accomplished OFW Information Sheet; and;
4. a self-addressed stamped envelope.

Payment of fees should be in two (2) postal money orders addressed to POLO or the Philippine Overseas Labor Office-Canberra:

1. AUD 18.00 for verification of the Employment Con- tract; and
2. AUD 5.00 for the OEC.
