The Office of Multicultural Interests (OMI), Department of Communities has extended an invitation to Filipino organisations in Perth and WA to participate in a Filipino community forum to be held on Saturday, 1 October 2016 from 9 am to 12 noon.
The forum will provide an opportunity for representatives of various Filipino community organisations to network and participate in a community-focused discussion on issues of common interest.
OMI recognises that the Filipino community is a dynamic and active community in Western Australia and that the many Filipino community associations, social groups and sporting
clubs provide countless welfare and wellbeing services to the Filipino community.
In addition to supporting the community here in WA and enriching WA’s cultural diversity, many of these associations do charitable work to support people back in the Philippines
and in other parts of the world.
As part of its Community Portfolios program, OMI is interested in working with the greater Filipino community to better understand its needs, issues and aspirations.
