The Mandurah Filipino Sports Club Inc. welcomes 2016 very proud with an Achievement Award by the City of Mandurah granted to the Club President, and the 5th year anniversary of the Club by July. Another memorable moment to the Club was the Gawad Kalinga CEO Luis Oquiñena and GK -Australia Team’s visit at the games this March.
Australia Day Recognition
MFSCI President Achievement Awardee 2016. In celebration of the Australia Day last 26/Jan, the MFSCI President Carolina Allen was presented with an Achievement Award by the City of Mandurah. Extremely proud, she dedicated the award to the Club. In her words, “I couldn’t have done what I did to deserve this award without your help and support.”
MFSCI Mixed Volleyball Tournament. The 2016 MFSCI Games were opened last 7/Feb. Six mixed volleyball teams make the League 2016, coordinated by Patrick Coyle, MFSCI Volleyball Committee. With three games per weekend, the tournament is planned to run 17 weeks. The teams white, blue, red, black, green and yellow have the afternoon games at the Mandurah Aquatic Recreation Centre on Sundays
The Gawad Kalinga (GK) Team Visit. The 16 March MFSCI Games had the honor to receive the visit of the GK CEO Luis Oquiñena, the GK Enchanted Farm’s Louis Faure, and GK -Australia Team members. Luis and Louis spoke to the MFSCI community about their wonderful work and experience in the Philippines.
MFSCI Upcoming Events. The Club is preparing for the coming Perth events, the 4th WAPIFC on 4-5 June at the Belmont Leisure Centre, and the 118th Philippines Independence Day, Palarong Pinoy on 12 June. In July, the MFSCI will celebrate its 5th year anniversary. The Club was formed on the 15th of July 2011 by the club’s first President Vicente Bataller, to promote sports as an enjoyable and healthy activity within the community and foster sociability among its members.
