‘Working together for a better community’

The Filipino Australian Multicultural Association Inc.(FAMAS) continues to be actively collaborating and supporting many ethnic groups and individuals throughout the community and we always have our mission of “working together for a better community” at the forefront of everything we do.

It’s always interesting to see what other organizations are doing in the community as we are always looking for ways to enhance our efforts to reach our objectives.

June was a huge month for us starting with attending the 2nd Annual Africa Day & World Refugee Day 2016 hosted by Africa Communities Western Australia. Truly mesmerizing and enlightening evening as we listened to many who shared their journey of coming to Australia from their war torn country. We then went off to the Hakka Association of Western Australia, joining in their 7th Anniversary celebrations. What an inspirational evening!

It was lovely to attend Filipino Australian Club of Cockburn Inc. 7th Anniversary. Damayang Filipino 118 Philippine Independence Day party.

We were delighted to join fellow Filipino Australian Community leaders in Perth to meet and greet with their Excellency Mrs Minda Calaguian-Cruz, the new Philippines Ambassador to Australia which was hosted by the Filipino Australian Club of Perth.

FAMS is grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with Pakistanis in Australian to help support the wider community and it was lovely to be included in the Meethi EID 2016 dinner celebration and to be acknowledged for our involvement in BushFire Victims Fundraising & BEENAI Project.

We had a great night helping the Mandurah Filipino Sports Club celebrate their 5th Anniversary.

As non-profit organization we truly appreciate our sponsors and the wonderful support we have received over the years so it was wonderful to be included in the Move Homes Launch as invited guests of Mark Antoniades.

Our next fundraiser is going to be spectacular and you are all invited to join our Rock n’ Roll Bingo night on Saturday 10 September from 5:30 – 11:30pm at the Macedonian Club Hall 51 Albert St. North Perth (see contacts below for tickets). Money raised will be used for our FAMAS Ultimate Christmas Lunch for the Homeless and seniors who are living alone without family.
