Concert king Martin Nievera is a tough act to follow, but OPM (Original Pilipino Music) artist Rey Valera was up to the task in Perth!
The sheer power packed by his original song compositions like Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo, Maging Sino Ka Man, and Kahit Maputi Na Ang Buhok Ko carried Rey’s one-night performance through the roof. Tickets were sold out as sentimental Filipino fans packed the suburban Perth venue. Rey Valera is a brilliant performer, and with his trusty guitar brought his wrapt audience back in time and, between hit songs, throwing bits and pieces of commentary on current events back home.
A ‘Meet and Greet’ session was arranged by the show producers, Aussie Pinoy Entertainment, at Dome Cafe in Claremont Precinct the night before the concert. That, too, was sold out. Rey Valera delighted the guests, socialising freely and obliging with photo ops.
