MPs keep in step!
The popular cultural number “Tinikling” bamboo dance never fails to draw the attention of the crowd wherever it is performed. At the Philippine Independence Ball at Crown Perth on 19th June, everyone was wrapt as the dexterous youth troupe skipped about. Then it was time for the usual audience participation. All eyes are on the dignitaries’ table now. Who would dare? Labour’s Mark McGowan stood up first. Would House Speaker Michael Sutherland be up for the challenge? Or would he delegate to Minister Dr. Mike Nahan? Well, both stood up, each his own man. But Mark McGowan was up and running. Mike Nahan observed before daring. Soon all three were swinging away! The MPs, they kept in step, to the delight of the crowd.
